Luxury accommodation options for Boardmasters
Newquay parties hard in August, when surfers flock to the sea and bands take to the stage. Throw in a few cheeky after-dark events and that’s summer sorted.
Two sites on the picturesque north Cornish coast attract some 50,000 surf and skate fans to the Boardmasters Festival every summer. At Watergate Bay, 12 stages feature more than 200 acts, catering to a range of musical tastes from rock and indie to grime and house. Meanwhile, nearby Fistral Beach becomes a surf village, where spectators can watch world-class surfers brave the incoming waves. Holding it all together is the usual sprinkling of food, beer and merch tents, plus several art installations, workshops and BMX competitions.
This bit of Cornish coastline is a spectacular stretch of the South West Coast Path with magnificent views from steep, hedge-lined paths. Our range of luxury self-catering homes are dotted about the area, allowing groups of friends, couples and families to retreat in comfort to a bespoke designer cottage at night, then drift back to those golden beaches when the next scheduled event begins. Newquay has long been a beachy HQ for summer gatherings, so it’s a prime spot for hosting the festival’s separately ticketed After Parties when the sun goes down.
