From the owner

“You can sit for hours, watching the mesmeric pattern of waves rolling in from the Atlantic. As white clouds hang in the sky and the shrill cries of gulls punctuate the air, you can´t help but fall deeply in love with this uniquely magical corner of Cornwall.”

From the owner

The house is a pavilion-style detached beach house and the weather boarding exterior is the epitome of a beach hut – yet a beach hut on a grand scale! The veranda makes the most of the stunning views and is perfect for sundowners.

The original owner built the house as a family coastal holiday home in 1900. He was a shipbuilder from Norfolk who brought all the wood, ready to erect, from Norwich to Bude. During the Second World War the house was used as a convalescent home for RAF servicemen.

We bought the house in 2004. It had previously belonged to great friends of my family and I had spent many summers here as a teenager. When we decided to buy ourselves a family home in Cornwall, we started our property hunt by simply entering ‘large house in Cornwall for sale’ on an internet search engine. Northcott House was the first property that came up. I couldn’t believe my luck.

We had a wonderful stay at Northcott Beach House for Christmas. Please pass on our thanks to the owners - the house is perfect in every way. We enjoyed our stay and the views are exceptional. We were out walking every day and the house was always beautifully warm to come home to and relax in during the evenings. We had some fabulous dinners and even managed to cook our first Christmas dinner using an Aga. It really felt like home but with plenty of space for everyone to spend a week together and enjoy it all.

What a wonderful holiday we had at Northcott Beach House. The house is superb and everyone loved it. We had some rainy weather, but it somehow did not matter as it was such a pleasure to be in the house. I want to say how much we appreciated the amazing hamper and all the food and wine left for us. All high quality and greatly enjoyed and appreciated. A brilliant holiday in a lovely home and so well fitted out and cared for in every way. Northcott was quite exceptional in every way. The house was also presented very well and clean and welcoming.

A great house and great service, we couldn´t fault it. The property was very clean and tidy and the welcome basket was a real bonus. The housekeeper, who greeted us, was a star. We would happily return to Northcott Beach House, 5 stars all round!

Northcott Beach House is a brilliant place for a family gathering. We very much enjoyed the beach, which has a huge stretch of sand when the tide is out and allows for walking to Bude. We had a fantastic stay and we hope to return again soon!

Thank you for a memorable holiday. Northcott Beach House is a beautiful home in a fabulous location and wonderfully eclectic decor which made us all feel at home immediately. A real memory-maker.

The whole experience exceeded all of our hopes. The house was beautiful and the location fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a holiday with a large group of people.

It was by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed and if we won the lottery we would buy it tomorrow. The photos had given us the impression that the house would be nice but nothing could prepare us for that view

Please pass on our thanks to the owners - they have a wonderful house and there were 17 of us staying celebrating my mothers 70th birthday and all of our family really loved the house. We have had a wonderful time - we planned to eat out a few nights but in the end we ate out just once because we loved being in the house together so much.

We had a truly wonderful stay thank you,Many thanks to the whole team at UHS, you made it seamless! Everyone was over the moon at the property, cleanliness, hamper, welcome - the whole package!

We all had a wonderful time. The property was very well equipped with everything we needed and it was extremely clean which is very important. Everything was perfect, we were very happy.

An amazing house - much larger than the photographs suggested. Felt able to let the children play without having to keep on at them not to touch things yet still very comfortable for the adults to relax. The little ones loved the two big bean bags in the sitting room!
