Luxury self-catering accommodation in Cubert
Halfway down the county of Cornwall, just inland from the rolling northern coastline, this charming village is the epitome of a fun rural escape.
If you've made it this far into Cornwall, you will be ready to hit the sands, so it's lucky that this inland village sits between two stunning sandy beaches; Perranporth to the south and Crantock to the north. This is Cornwall's famed surfing paradise and plenty of visitors arrive armed with their own board, but there is no shortage of hire shops to enable you to jump in on the action. As well as an old church and small shop, Cubert is blessed with a characterful 16th century thatched pub, cooking up hearty Sunday roasts; perfect for post-swims.
Make this your start or stop point for a gentle stroll to beautiful Holywell Bay, named after its holy well, which can be found in a cave on the beach. This is also the perfect spot to stop awhile with excited children, as it has something for everyone; golden sands, a surf school and pitch & putt at the local golf course. Walkers wishing to continue on to Kelsey Head might attempt to locate its iron age remains while keeping an eye on the panoramic coastal views, spotting seals and sometimes dolphins playing happily in the turquoise waters.
