Luxury self-catering accommodation in Gorran Haven
Nestled to the north of Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula, this sleepy bay is a haven of peace and tranquillity, with tiny streets, picturesque cottages and two sandy beaches.
For such a small area, this tiny harbour town has several beaches which draw the summer crowds, Little Perhaver, Gorran Haven and Vault. In the village, tiny lanes wind between cottages and you will find a couple of cafés and a takeaway seafood shop for lunching on the sands. This stunning stretch of the south coast has long been dubbed the 'Cornish Riviera', a tribute to the area's lush landscape and crystal clear seas. The south west cliff path is particularly lovely here, as a bracing walk around dramatic Dodman Point will prove.
This is the highest headland on Cornwall's beautiful south coast, so expect brilliant scenery and steep climbs. To break into the surrounding countryside, many short drives lead to nearby hotspots, like the biomes of the Eden Project and sub-tropical Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you can tempt the children off the beaches, head to Caerhays, St Mawes and Pendennis Castles, all easy drives away, with plenty to explore. Pendennis and Caerhays both have cafés, so if the clock is pointing towards tea time you can schedule the visit to coincide with refreshments.
