Luxury self-catering accommodation in South Molton
At the gateway to Exmoor National Park is this thriving market town, the perfect base for rural adventures hiking, canoeing and surfing the nearby waves.
South Molton is set on the edge of the Exmoor's quite formidable landscape. When the sea mist lifts, a patchwork of colour spreads from sea to hill and back again revealing sights like no other. Along the closeby coastline, the South West Coast Path offers some of the most spectacular cliff walking in the country while the treeless heartland is crisscrossed with over 600 miles of footpaths. Exmoor has a range of outdoor pursuits which will suit even the tiniest travellers; canoeing on quiet lakes, horse-riding over fields and otter spotting from river banks.
Whilst planning beach day trips choice from Woody Bay, to Dunster and Porlock, as Exmoor borders some of North Devon's most family-friendly beaches. While Minehead Beach is the usual go-to for those blistering days in midsummer heat, there are a host of small, secret coves where cerulean waters gently lap the sand. Watermouth Bay, on the western corner of the National Park, is a quiet cove surrounded by steep, leafy cliffs and offers safe bathing for the whole family.
