Luxury self-catering accommodation in Waldron
Halfway from Tunbridge Wells to Eastbourne, and right on the edge of the high-rolling High Weald, this pretty little town has a regular food market and stunning old church.
There is much to be said for living halfway between town and coast: just 40 minutes from Eastbourne and 30 from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Waldron has the best of both worlds. This pretty little village also has direct access to miles of lush green countryside with its prime position hugging the High Weald border, not to mention its close proximity to world-class opera, Glyndebourne. This is East Sussex at its very best. With walking routes, pony tracks and cycle trails threaded through woods and meadows, the self-catering holiday destination of Waldron gets plenty of rural luxuries with breath-taking, scenic views of the history-rich countryside.
Family fun is varied and plentiful here, with East Sussex offering some of the finest days out. Drive along to the green domes of the Observatory Science Centre, with its fascinating space and science-themed exhibits by day, and enjoy refined trips to the opera by night. Meanwhile, Drusilla's theme park is perfect for those whose children wish to run off some steam in the adventure play areas, after visiting the extensive zoo and splashing about in the Get Wet! zone. Little train enthusiasts won't be left out either, as they can buckle up for a ride on the Safari Express, a peaceful way of pottering around the park.
