Infinity
Gorran Haven, The Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, UK
The idyllic coastal backdrop chosen for Richard Curtis' love story 'About Time' sets the scene for fun-filled family self-catering holidays at this large, luxury beach house in Gorran Haven. Occupying a prime cliff top position on the Roseland Peninsula, Infinity overlooks the azure waters and golden cove of one of Cornwall's best secret beaches.
Introduction
Infinity brings first class contemporary design to one of Cornwall's most secluded and untouched coastlines. Proudly perched atop Gorran Haven's red rock cliffs, this luxury self-catering beach house affords wraparound coastal views and is backed by the exotic vegetation of Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula (a designated AONB). From days spent snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters to evenings cosied-up inside admiring the moon dance over a stormy sea; Infinity allows families to kick back in true Cornish style.
Inside
The sumptuous coastal interiors and mesmerising views will provide irresistible whatever the hour, whatever the season. Start mornings with leisurely breakfasts in the open-plan kitchen-diner, with fridges stocked full of local Cornish produce; fresh milk, clotted cream, strawberry jam and farm butter. Later, after salt-sprayed adventures along the coast, finish the day with a roaring fire and family movie night in the cinema room. To send you off to sleep, Infinity's dreamy bedrooms stretch over two floors and have memory foam mattresses, eco-friendly fibres and Egyptian cottons.
Outside
Summers at Infinity will be a dream. Children will be entertained for hours playing tig on the large tea lawn to the side of the house, whilst parents can retire to the second lawn which slopes down to the cliff top and spills down towards the ocean. Team the upper terrace with a chilled bottle of wine and platter of scones, and you'll be set for the afternoon. If you can tear yourself away from the sun-trap garden, there are beautiful walks waiting to be discovered around just about every corner. Stomp past Cornish palms and coconut-scented gorse to reach miles of sandy beach and secret coves.

From the owner
“When you step inside Infinity there is one thing that hits you straight away - the view! The house is perched on a cliff top and has been in our family since 1966. We recently re-designed the house to exploit the wonderful coastal views even further. It´s like being on the bridge of a ship.”
Infinity has been in our family since 1966 and our family's connection with Cornwall goes back even further to the 1950s. A regular port of call was Falmouth, where my father fell deeply in love with the south coast. When he retired, it was only natural that he should come back to Cornwall and my parents spent 25 happy years here.
The original house had been built in the 1920s by a retired naval commander and it eventually succumbed to the elements. In 2014 it was demolished, and we built the new house that you see today. We wanted to create a place that could be enjoyed by future generations, one that would stand up to all weathers, was eco-friendly, homely and, crucially, fully exploit the wonderful cliff top coastal views.
There is so much to see and do in this part of Cornwall - whether it be kayaking and paddle boarding in Gorran Haven, fishing in Mevagissey, walking along the South West Coast Path or exploring the Lost Gardens of Heligan. But, then again, you could just stay at Infinity and enjoy the stunning view!

What a beautiful house and amazing view. The perfect place to relax and have fun. We had mixed weather but managed to enjoy the beach and kayaking. We loved the Lost Gardens of Heligan - such an amazing place and so fun for the kids. We had a rather wet visit to Charlestown, but the ice cream still tasted great whatever the weather!
What an incredibly special weekend with my family. Infinity is breathtaking in every way. Oodles of comfort and what a view! Nothing quite like the ocean to give us all perspective on London life. The owners explained about some walks to take in the area and now I am in love with this part of Cornwall!
The view is breath-taking and I already can´t wait to come back to see it all over again. You have done an amazing job of making this home such a welcoming and cosy space for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful home for us to start our year in. Even in January, the seas are ever-changing, and the beach, views and village are still just as beautiful as I´d imagine they are in the summer. Looking forward to visiting again.
We´ve spent the most wonderful Christmas in this beautiful home- one we will remember for a very long time! The house is so easy to live in, and to cook with the view of the sea is just divine. Thank you for making this wonderful spot available to us - we can´t wait to come back.
The best place to bring the best people to see in the New Year. Highlights really were The Hidden Hut, our New Year swim in the sea, and just spending time together as a family. Thank you for a fabulous time in your beautiful home. Great location, great walks, great food and all with great company!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We had a superb time enjoying much of what Gorran Haven and the surrounding area has to offer. It was such a delight to wake up and end the day taking in the gorgeous views from the many vantage points Infinity has to offer.
What a treat! We have had a brilliant week with all the family including grandchildren. Beautifully designed house with so much space and in an enviable position with those views of the sea. We enjoyed the local beaches, as well as having fresh crab and the most delicious ice creams in the village. Thank you so much.
We stayed for a week for Easter, and just had the best time! We had amazing weather and enjoyed a few (cold) morning swims at the beach. The walk to Mevagissey is really beautiful and would recommend everyone does it at least once. We had a great holiday here, so thank you.
Amazing house, amazing location, amazing weather. We set our alarm to watch the sun rise each morning, swam with the locals and just had a fabulous time. We were belatedly celebrating two big birthdays and you helped make it very special. We didn´t want to leave the house at all, but managed to drag ourselves to some fabulous restaurants (The Hidden Hut, Idle Rocks and The Salamander - all highly recommended!) Thank you once again!
With family from all corners of the UK (London, Yorkshire, Cornwall and Bristol), this week has been full of madness, fun, laughter, play fights, beaches, walks, ice cream, dares, rock pools, jumps from the harbour wall, cycling, dawn and dusk swims in the sea, eating, body boarding, sunsets, coffee with a view, yoga, diamond starred skies, I could go on and on! Just so privileged to have been able to enjoy this beauty with our loved ones.
After being postponed from our stay in 2020, we have now enjoyed a wonderful family holiday, that has been blessed with glorious weather and great views from such a super house. Visits to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, delicious meal at The Barley Sheaf, and lots of walks, all memories to treasure. Thank you to all.
What a stunning location! Despite some typical Cornish weather, we had a fantastic time - even just watching the rain, winds and sea from the sitting room was simply wonderous. We´d love to come back!
What a wonderful holiday. Your beautiful house is superbly kitted out and has everything needed for a large family group. The views are sensational and I can imagine being here in any season. Such a clever use of the space to optimise the enjoyment of the house. We will definitely return and come with the full party who would have been with us had COVID not prevented us from bringing everyone. Thanks to all who have made it such a wonderful and comfortable stay.
A beautiful property in a stunning location with spectacular views! We were only a small group but our grandchildren loved every minute of it, with all the space available in the home. I was unable to keep the weight down with the excess if pasties, clotted cream and scones...though regular walks back and forth to the quaint little village helped! All truly memorable times; thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. We had a fantastic week and really appreciated being in such a clean house in an amazing location. We especially enjoyed meeting the local cats, and seeing dolphins and seals at Vault Beach. We´re just sorry to leave!
The six of us have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. Last year we walked on Italian sands in Naxos, and the year before we stayed in Cinque Terre - but this house and the coastline take the biscuit! Lockdowns and the problems we now face seem a long way away and we return home feeling refreshed and positive.
Thank you for providing a wonderful home to stay in! Our stay ends just as the Uk is about to go into lockdown, and we´ve spent the best week with great food, long walks and good weather! The house is absolutely stunning and we will now just have to dream of the open views of the sea whilst locked up in our homes in London!
We have stayed in some amazing places over the years on our annual trips to Cornwall but Infinity tops the lot! We have not felt the need to venture far, the car has stayed on the drive whilst we have enjoyed the local harbour! Coastal walks to Vault beach, kayaking, the breath-taking views, the cinema room, telescopes and board games have facilitated some enjoyable family-together times. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. We shall be leaving feeling that our souls have been fed with some magical memories.
We are so pleased we booked Infinity. It is a haven of relaxation. One of our party said "I must have looked at that view over a hundred times, but cannot stop looking at it" - says it all really!
Infinity is in a fantastic position, beautifully furnished, and well equipped. The views are stunning and the design of the house displays these at their best. We holiday in Cornwall a lot and this was a different area for us to stay in - it certainly lived up to all expectations! Truly a wonderful place to stay and we can´t wait to return.
We were absolutely delighted with Infinity. The property was just wonderful and it lived up to all expectations; our holiday was a resounding success.
Very many thanks for the loan of such a gorgeous house in such a fabulous location. The weather gods smiled, Bacchus did exceptionally well with food and wine and Neptune looked favourably upon our sea escapades! The grandchildren were brilliant, obviously inspired by their surroundings. Between us we celebrated five birthdays, lived like kings, queens, princes and princesses but alas today, we must return to normality.
Thank you so much, we enjoyed a memorable week in a superb house which provided everything we could have wished for. The views are incredible and it felt so peaceful and relaxing.
