Pearl´s Place
Frome, Somerset, UK
A rock ‘n’ roll love affair between faded glamour and chic country house style awaits at this luxury self-catering manor house in Somerset. Step into a wonderland at the end of a long, tree-lined drive in Frome and journey to a world of feminine florals and gold gilt, Bohemian extravagance and tea parties on the lawn. For fanciful large group getaways, Pearl’s Place has it all.
Introduction
Everything about this luxury Somerset homestay was designed with the hedonist in mind. Gather in the seductive dining room for long nights of Champagne and laughter; recline on a thick rug by an open fire; and sink into an enormous, claw-footed bathtub. In summer, kick off your shoes and salute the sun on dew-kissed grass at sunrise, or spread outside with mismatched tea sets and rich cream teas. In the darker half of the year, the manor's floral walls keep winter at the door while large, deep sofas beg for crosswords and conversation. If you must leave, the Fat Radish in Frome serves deliciously dizzying cocktails.
Inside
Dating back to the early 1800s, Pearl's Place gleams with vintage finds, hand-finished touches and many a beaded or lace nod to the roaring twenties. Deep colours and layers of texture flank every window and wall, while antique chandeliers drizzle from ornate ceilings. Linger by floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on forest glades and rolling Somerset hills and in the evening watch as the sun puts itself to bed in a golden hurrah. Here is a large country house that has had heart and soul thrown into every nook and cranny, with oversized flower arrangements, canopied beds and deeply romantic furnishings.
Outside
Swing open the French doors and step out, hands cradling a cup of coffee, into the fresh Somerset air. Bistro tables invite slow mornings of watching the day wake from slumber, while your very own gypsy caravan, hidden in the bushes, will tempt little feet to run from the house and embark on imagination-led adventures. The impeccable lawn, which slopes down towards the sun and sweeps around the house, is fringed by trees tinkling with wind chimes, and lush technicolour flowerbeds. Beyond, breathe in the heady perfume of a thousand roses tangling over pagodas and stone in the secretive walled garden.

From the owner
“Our favourite time of day at Pearl´s Place is during the late afternoon when the sun sets. The house and gardens are bathed in golden sunlight and look truly radiant in the amber glow. It´s just a magical place to be.”
Our beautiful country home was originally built in 1825. With its round features and details in the frame construction, it was built to the highest standards known at the time.
We have tried to maintain this level of quality and have luxuriously furnished each room so that all of our guests can enjoy total comfort and relaxation.
As for us, we moved here with our children over 10 years ago from London and haven't looked back since.
Pearl’s Place is a truly magical home in a wonderful part of Somerset, somewhere that never ceases to amaze us. We hope you feel the same!

It´s my dream home! We had a fantastic time celebrating a birthday at this gorgeous property. We would love to return to Pearl´s Place and experience it all again. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay.
Pearl´s Place is definitely unique, each room has it´s own character entirely and no two are the same! The kitchen is great for hosting and the separate dining room is perfect for everyone to get together for a special dinner. The hot tub is a lovely touch and there are great views from the front of the house.
I found Pearl’s Place to be completely charming. The property is so creatively styled. I loved the woodland walk and all the sheltered areas of the garden. There are so many corners to explore and the house is the very best fun for children. It is a total haven of peace and vintage charm, the hardest thing to do here was to choose a favourite room!
We hosted a small gathering at Pearl´s Place and it was perfect. I just loved the whole feel of the place, it´s laid-back but wonderfully glamorous and sumptuous, you can very much tell it´s a much-loved family home. The sunset over the hills and the warm gold stone was gorgeous on our visit in autumn. I´d love to see it in spring and summer too.
The property was really lovely. It was a gorgeous big house, was very comfortable and it surpassed all expectations. The children loved all the quirks in the property and exploring. The area and position of the property is really special and provided the most amazing sunsets and generally the light is amazing there. The woodland area at the property was great and the girls loved running around here too. They had a wonderful stay as did we.
