Afternoon teas would transform into flamboyant flapper parties, and villagers would come and go among the topiary gardens and champagne towers. A century on, the estate has passed from the hands of a sculptor to the present owner, who offers a luxury self-catering country escape made up of two historic homes – Hollyhocks and Atelier Rose.
