I was very excited to help Jon create a magical setting in which to propose to his girlfriend, Rosie. The Chalk House, the cottage they booked with Unique Homestays, has beautiful, laid back interiors, in neutral tones, with the sweetest garden overlooking the harbour at Mousehole so we echoed this coastal-cool vibe in the styling while ensuring we used copious amounts of white roses - Rosie's favourite flower.
We knew the couple would be walking up to the cottage so it was important to create an element of intrigue as they approached the house, without giving too much away. Emily from 3acre and I lined the steps up to the garden with heavenly scented white sweetpeas and candles. Then Jon got down on one knee in the garden, surrounded by roses and more candles, with a bottle of Rosie's favourite Champagne on ice (sourced via the brilliant team at The Old Garage).
The lovely Noah Werth was hiding in the garden to take the amazing photographs you can see here. Ninja-like in his approach and such a friendly, easy-going guy, Jon and Rosie felt instantly at ease with him.
Inside the cottage, we prepared an intimate table for two, with Rosie's favourite dinner from The Wolseley awaiting them. A stunning floral arrangement from Emily and elegant tapered candles created a beautiful dining setting. I asked Katie at Scalet Paperie to create handwritten menus for the couple, ensuring they had one to keep as a memento of this very special day.
