Signature lime and bay fragrances, cashmere throws, and artisanal earthenware glazed in gloss white; just some of the finishing touches you can expect to find at fairytale cottage The Fable following its recent collaboration with luxury lifestyle retailers The White Company.
This Grade-II listed, powder-pink dwelling started life as part of a Cornish dairy farm in the 1700s. Since then, a slow and tender transformation has taken place between its rough cob walls. In 2015, owner Sarah Stanley fell in love with the farmhouse-in-miniature tucked up a tiny track, deploying a team of local craftsmen to modernise the cottage while staying true to its bucolic heritage. A firm favourite on the portfolio since its launch, this year sees the page turn on a new chapter for the storybook home.
The cottage is an ode to simple living. There’s a huge open fire, clawfoot tub, and a farmhouse table laid with crumpled linen cloth that awaits sharing platters of roast chicken and potatoes. Bedrooms are dressed in The White Company’s luxury linens, finished with muslin throws, Tibetan sheepskin cushions, and glass bottles of ‘sleep mist’ on the bedside tables. Outside, there’s a cottage garden of dreams (complete with The White Company's fluffy robes for padding out to the hot tub).
To celebrate this first-of-its-kind partnership, Unique Homestays will be offering the chance to win a stay at The Fable, along with £500 to spend with The White Company. Follow @thewhitecompany and @uniquehomestays on Instagram for the competition announcement this Spring.
