We picked the Art House for its perfect location near beautiful Porthcurno and my parents, sister and Rufus the dog who are nearby in Lamorna. We wanted somewhere suitable for everyone to enjoy a much needed family catch up. We parked up on the driveway and stepped through the white double French doors into the light, bright and beautifully finished home. The children ran off to decide who was going to get top bunk!
The Art House was perfect because it has a gorgeous king-size bedroom downstairs which was perfect for my ageing parents, and the bathrooms are all conveniently located on the ground floor which made it extremely easy and stress free for them. The children loved their funky bedroom and were excited to go to sleep for once, leaving the adults to enjoy some quality time together in front of the crackling fire. We chatted and enjoyed the wine provided in the hamper, catching up and making memories…
After a lovely relaxing first night, my husband and I had taken the upstairs bedroom, climbing the narrow stairs the moon light flooded in and we sunk into bed. How rested we felt, it was the most peaceful night’s sleep and we woke to a small rabbit right outside our window! My parents had been up for a while and loved that there was a record player at the property, they were supping their morning coffee listening to some vinyl records whilst the children tested out the trampoline in the garden. It really was the most perfect morning.
Later that day we visited the stunning Porthcurno, just walking in the fresh sea air and watching the ocean was nothing short of spectacular. We collected some shells and then headed home for Grandma’s famous hot chocolates complete with whipped cream and milk chocolate buttons!
On Sunday we headed over to the telegraph museum to enjoy the exhibitions and it was brilliant for the children getting them involved in wartime history - my father was thrilled and regaled us with his own wartime stories (again…). Unable to stay on the Sunday evening due to work and school commitments, we all enjoyed fish and chips and left my parents to enjoy the property, feeling a little jealous that they had an extra night at this wonderful home.
This weekend could not have been more perfect, the house offers something for everyone and really we could not imagine staying anywhere else! So many happy memories have been made at The Art House. I really do hope to return in the near future.
