As Friday arrived so did a twinge of excitement for the weekend that lay ahead of me. I was going to stay at Atlanta, the latest property arrival to join the Unique Homestays portfolio. Overhanging the cliff at Freathy, Atlanta flaunts a stunning seascape over the fine sands of Whitsand Bay and out onto the horizon beyond - a fine treat for a weekend away with my plus one!
As we made our way to Atlanta along the coastal road, the autumnal afternoon sun was low in the sky and cast a warm golden glow across the bay. We had arrived and after opening the doors to our home from home, we were so impressed with just how perfect everything was. From the extra special little touches to the sense of space and the dramatic sea views, Atlanta was all I'd hoped for and more.
Our days were filled with crisp walks discovering charming fishing villages, steaming pasties in hand. Evenings however were spent soaking in a cloud of bubbles, watching the ever-changing ocean vistas from the deep bath tub, playing board games and reading local tales of smugglers and shipwrecks under the canopy of the four-poster bed.
The morning of our departure arrived and after a lingering coffee on the deck, wrapped in thick blankets watching the sunrise, we packed up the car and headed back to reality. Thank you to the owners of Atlanta for welcoming us to your wonderful home.
