Marking the backdrop to two pivotal milestones in our lives, Unique Homestays has come to hold a special place in our family folklore. The first unfolded at Aphrodite in Boscastle, Cornwall, a converted chapel that retains its original charm across five stories, offering stunning views of the coast and a quaint outdoor area with cosy seating, blankets, and a barbecue. The property set the stage for a momentous breakfast-in-bed proposal, followed by Champagne overlooking the sea. Later, when we discovered that Unique Homestays had a collection of exclusive-use wedding venues, we knew the setting for our vows would be just as memorable.
That's when we found Scarlet Hall — one of the most beautiful homes I had ever seen, surrounded by vibrant gardens, and with a wedding barn capable of hosting 80 guests. The moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we were captivated; every detail was flawlessly curated, every corner a photographer's dream. The celebrations extended beyond "just" the wedding day; we cherished the entire week leading up to it, making Scarlet Hall our private pre-nuptial haven. With the property exclusively ours, we indulged in celebrations with our nearest and dearest, including our two small pups. Think country walks, a cosy pizza night, evenings being serenaded by a pianist on the grand piano, a flower arranging session (with creations on display for the ceremony,) and a spirited sports day with a barbecue as prelude to the day itself.
The wedding unfolded seamlessly; we felt, and still feel, so lucky to have found this place. Blessed by favourable weather, we hosted welcome drinks in the charming courtyard, whilst the front of the venue set the stage for our ceremony. There was flowering wisteria all around, and we transformed the barn and grounds into a hub of games, cocktails, paella, and dancing. The unanimous praise from our guests underscored what we already knew — Scarlett Hall was an extraordinary venue. Some were so enamoured, they went on to "save the date" for themselves, with a few boldly declaring it the best wedding they'd ever attended!
Our wedding week exceeded our wildest dreams, and Unique Homestays orchestrated a day that will forever hold a special place in our memories.
