We too have been waiting as long as possible to get into the Christmas spirit, but as we enter the twelfth month we have finally succumbed to all that is merry and bright; from the office Christmas tree to the festive favourites on the radio and the promise of a bottle of eggnog to the first who debuts the novelty candy cane earrings! Okay, maybe not.
Christmas will be here and gone before we can finish a box of Quality Streets, but, there is still time to plan a quick getaway with your loved one to a bijou bolthole (did someone say Christmas engagement?!) or round up the gang, Grandma included, and head to a unique home to celebrate the big day in style. Our luxury properties are well and truly dressed for the festive season, so all you need to do is pick one and load up the car with presents and Prosecco!
This wonderfully secluded former piggery is the perfect place to hunker down with your beloved and spend the special day together, just the two of you. Imagine it: no fighting over the monopoly, no children screaming over present envy, no squabbling with uncle Tony over the last slice of Port Salut – bliss! Idyllically positioned close to the coast for a Boxing Day stomp, return for a glass of red and leftovers fireside. (Hint: it's also the perfect place to pop the question – the magical little bridge over the river provides an unforgettable spot!).
Wake up on the 25th December to the sound of the sea. The Spyglass is set in beautiful Gorran Haven and is the perfect family home to hole-up in for Christmas. A roaring fire, rum on the rocks and perhaps a decedent Fruits De Mer for the main event, freshly caught from the bay. Chuck the pudding in the steamer and head to the beach (via private access steps), where the children can burn off the sugar high with a family game of rounders. The Spyglass will provide a coastal Christmas to remember, that’s for sure.
Christmas will be a grand affair at Rowton Manor; where this impressive sleeps-six home offers the perfect backdrop for a truly jaw-dropping escape. Head to Bar Electric for a Christmas Eve knees-up with performing local musicians, mulled wine and mince pies. On the big day itself, start with a dip in the Atlantic and return to Tamarisk Beach House for a hearty breakfast of smoked salmon and bucks fizz before opening stockings. Families can gather in the large dining room with uninterrupted sea views for the traditional roast dinner before heading to the balcony for a toast, clinking glasses to another magical year altogether.

River House offers a modern space to congregate with its large open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, meaning the Christmas meal prep will be a real family affair.
